Booker and Durant Lead Suns to 109-105 Comeback Victory Over Lakers, Handing Them First Loss of the Season

The Phoenix Suns managed a dramatic 109-105 comeback win against the Los Angeles Lakers, handing the Lakers their first loss of the season. Devin Booker led the Suns with 33 points, and Kevin Durant added an impressive 30 points, along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Booker and Durant powered the Suns after an 18-point first-quarter deficit, launching a strong response in the game’s closing minutes.

The Suns' comeback picked up momentum in the fourth quarter, especially when the game was tied at 84. The Suns then went on a decisive 12-1 run, with Royce O’Neale sinking a clutch three-pointer that pushed the Suns ahead. Durant’s back-to-back baskets later in the quarter built the lead to 105-101 with just over two minutes left. Despite a three-pointer from LeBron James that brought the Lakers within one point, O’Neale’s floater with 1:25 left helped the Suns keep their lead and seal the game.

This victory came as a form of payback for the Suns, who lost to the Lakers 123-116 just a few days prior. The Lakers saw strong performances from Anthony Davis, who recorded 29 points and 15 rebounds, and Austin Reaves, who added 23 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop Booker and Durant from closing out the game in Phoenix’s favor. LeBron James was held to just 11 points, shooting 3-of-14 from the field, in what turned out to be a low-scoring night for the Lakers' star.
